MOVIE REVIEW (KOREAN MOVIES EDITION)

20th Century Girl

Some days ago I watched this Korean movie. There are four main character that exist in the movie, those are Baek Hyun Jin, Poong Won Ho, Na Bo Ra, dan Kim Yeon Doo. 

This movie told the audience about the love story of Bo ra and Won ho that is very tragic. It began when Bo Ra wanted to help her best friend, Yeon Do to observe Hyun Jin because she likes him. But, there is a misunderstanding about it.  The man that Yeon doo is referring to is not the real Hyun Jin, but he is Won ho. The misunderstanding was triggered because at Yeon doo's first meeting with Won Ho, Won Ho used Hyun Jin's almet, so when she saw his name tag, Yeon Doo thought the man's name was Hyun Jin. 

After a long time Bo Ra watched Hyun Jin, Bo Ra became close to Won Ho. She really liked him, and vice versa. But unfortunately, when Yeon Do returns from America after having a heart operation, Bo Ra must accept the fact that her best friend actually likes Won Ho. By all means, Bo Ra hides her feelings so that her best friend's wish to be close to Won Ho can be fulfilled. However, after they played together, Yeon Do finally found out that Won Ho actually likes Bo Ra, and vice versa. Initially, Yeon Do was disappointed. After seeing a message that was deleted by Bo Ra, who stated that she liked Won Ho when she was still in America, she realized that this was all a misunderstanding. Yeon Do finally gave in, because she thought that all this time Bo Ra had done many things to take care of her, she also always gave up in any case for her. Now it's her turn to succumb.

At that time, Won Ho, who was about to leave for New Zealand to meet his mother, was suddenly surprised by the presence of Bo Ra, who was rushing after him to the station. That said, Bo Ra revealed all her feelings for Won Ho that she had previously hidden. they hugged each other and said farewell. 

Even though they are far apart, they always keep each other updated and promise to meet. However, after a while, there was no more news about Bo Ra got from Won Ho. She kept waiting until the time came when she was already working, she got an invitation to an exhibition. At the exhibition she saw lots of memories he spent with won ho. Won Ho really likes to capture every moment with Bo Ra in the form of photos and videos. There Bo Ra talked with the person who invited her named Joseph who was none other than Won Ho's younger brother. Joseph deliberately made this exhibition, because he wanted to tell the story of how happy his older brother was to be completely with Bo Ra and he wanted Bo Ra know that. At the end of the film, Joseph said that Won Ho had actually died while he was going to Korea to meet Bo Ra.

Since then, even though her love story with Won Ho was not ended the way they wanted, Bo Ra was still happy and loved Won Ho so much.

When I watch this film, I also feel happy and also sad. Especially with an unpredictable ending. I burst into tears, as if Bo Ra was me. But overall, this film is very good to watch.

The Dude in Me

This film tells a story that I think is quite interesting. Where, there is an adult man whose soul moves into the body of a high school boy and so does the student's soul that moves into the body of that adult man.

The interesting thing is that the personalities of these two people are very different. this high school student has a cowardly nature while the adult man is a figure who is highly respected by many people, good at fighting and also brave. When they weren't in their respective bodies, many things happen.

A high school student who used to be bullied at school, now he is a respected figure at school. No one dared to bully him again, until the perpetrator moved schools. Besides that, his body was fat before, but now it has turned into a very ideal body, so that his female friends also like him. Looking at another point of view, the adult man's life has also changed due to the sincere feelings of the high school student's spirit that is still in his body at that time, he is finally able to reunite with the woman he loves and get along with his child to become a happy family.

Maybe it would be a little illogical when someone's spirit can move places. However, behind it all, we can learn so many lessons. Where we have to be brave and willing to protect ourselves when someone bullies us and not all success and wealth bring happiness, when we can be with the people and family we care about and become a harmonious family, maybe that's enough. I really recommend you to watch this movie.

Parasite

This is a cool movie in my opinion. Unexpected storyline adds a plus. However, the scenes of violence that were carried out were so clear and quite terrible.

This film tells the story of one poor family who tries to fool another family so they can work at their house. It was started by her older brother who became an English tutor to replace her friend who was no longer able to teach because he had to go to college. After that, he found there was an opportunity that he could use to employ all members of his family in the house where he taught. The first opportunity was used by his younger sister to become an art teacher for the second son of the owner of the house. After that, they devised a plan for the driver in the house to be fired and replaced by their father. And finally the plan worked. Furthermore, they also managed to get rid of the housemaid who had been working for a long time at the house by replacing her with their mother.

But behind all the success that they have obtained, it turns out that the fact that became the beginning of the problem occurred. The fact is that it turns out that the housemaid who used to have a husband lives in the basement of the house. All of this was uncovered when the maid asked permission to give her husband to their mother as the new housemaid. At the same time, their identity as a family was also revealed. From there, a problem arose that resulted in the death of several characters in the film.

However, there is a lesson that I can take from this film, namely when we want to start something, we should be honest. Because a good start will definitely provide good benefits for us. Besides that, we also have to be able to respect other people, even though maybe in terms of social status we are very different, from clothes, and anything. Don't let us belittle other people, because we don't know how the people we humiliate feel.

Extreme Job

This film is one of my favorite films. The actual contents of the film can be weighty, but it packed with humor from the behavior and events that occur to the players makes me really like it.

This film tells the story of a police team that wants to catch the biggest narcotics dealer in Korea. however, for various reasons, they were unable to catch him. Until finally when they were observing the residence of this city, they have an idea to buy a shop that sells fried chicken. With the intention that these police can easily monitor the narcotics dealer movements and get the opportunity to enter their headquarters because they know, the men there often order the fried chicken that the shop sells. However, something else actually happened. Their fried chicken business is busy and liked by many people, so they also have difficulty focusing on their original goals.

Until when their shop is taken over by a businessman who a person that is asked by the drugs dealer. Instead of selling chicken, they secretly traded narcotics to customers in nearby areas. Having known that illegal activity, the police make a movement. Until in the end they managed to catch the person who became a narcotics dealer along with all of his crew. This makes their team finally respected and they can be promoted.

What a very cool film. With the determination they have, what is their goal is finally achieved. That's what we can take as a lesson in this film. Being consistent is also no exception. Let's go to watch it!

Soulmate

This film is really cool. A story of friendship that really makes viewers like me amazed. 

The story begins when they meet and become friends when they were in elementary school in Jeju. They spend time and even live together. their names are Ahn Miso and Ko Ha Eun.

But when they grow up, there are so many incidents that make them finally look away from each other. For the details of the problem, you can watch it by yourself. However, they finally realized that even though at that time they hated each other, they couldn't stay away for a long time. 

This story is so sad to be told, but it is good to be watched.
